Film Festival Passes
In 2022, The Midwest Sci-Fi Short Film Festival will host three weekend-long virtual screenings of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror short films.
Festival Weekends run Friday starting at 6:00 p.m. CT through the end of the day on Sunday. Film Festival pass holders get 54 hours to watch up to three hours of new, independent short films. Then, pass holders get to vote on the best short films of 2022.
You must login to the film festival portal to purchase passes. If it is your first time on the portal, you will be prompted to create a new account via either your Google or Apple login.

How many people can attend the “Best of” Showcase & Awards per All Access Pass?
One person may attend per each All Access Pass purchased.
My friend and I both watched the films. Can we both vote?
You get one vote for each category per pass purchased. We also encourage your friend to purchase their own pass in order to support the film festival. Then they will be able to vote too!
Can I vote on films in June or August if I only purchased an April pass?
No, you must have a pass to attend a given screening to vote on films shown during that screening. If you want to vote for all films, please purchase the Virtual pass.
Are all the short films produced in the Midwest?
The Midwest Sci-Fi Short Film Festival especially highlights films produced in the Midwest, but screens films produced all over the world.

How do awards work?
An Audience Choice Award will be awarded to one Midwestern USA & Canada entry and one Other Worlds submission from films selected for screening at each of our virtual events – April 16, June 18, and August 20.
A Best Of Fest juried award winner will be chosen from the Midwestern USA & Canada entries submitted in 2022 (see rules for residency restrictions).
Awards will be announced at our in-person “Best of” Showcase in October.
